Circuit Point System Announcement

Our much anticipated new circuit race points tracking system is online and ready for use.  We created a new system to reduce the workload placed on the "Circuit Pointmaster" and to speed up the process of posting circuit race points.

Our new circuit race point system is self-report and very simple to use once you have an account set up.  It literally takes less than a minute to update your circuit points for a race once you have your finish information.

Below are the instructions for creating an account and getting started on tracking your circuit race points.  Have fun and please let us know if you have any questions or problems with the tool!

Thanks!

Why the new system?

Some of the problems that we faced with the old system of tracking circuit race points were:

  1. Creating the results for one circuit race could take as much as 6-8 or more hours.  And there is more to do for this volunteer than just creating the results.
  2. The old circuit race results tools requires the volunteer to have a moderate level of computer knowledge.
  3. The above two issues made it difficult for the club to find and keep "Circuit Pointmasters" and to post circuit race points updates relatively quickly.

To begin you must create a Circuit Points account here: http://tri-shark.org/lrc/AthleteLogin.aspx

  1. Click “Create a New Account Now”.
  2. Complete the form and click “Save”.  If you have registered on the volunteer system, please use the same email account to register for the circuit point system (Once your account is created the software will return back to the login screen)
  3. Login using your email and the password you just setup.

You can now begin entering your circuit race results information.  All of this year’s circuit races are listed.

To score a race (from your "My Standings" page):

  1. Click on the “Raced it” link for each race you want to score.
  2. Enter your overall time, overall place, and age-group place (see the results page for this information: http://www.lakerunclub.org/ResMenu.htm).
  3. Click on “Score It!” The software will then calculate the points you scored. Once you’ve “Score It!” you are returned back to the circuit races and will see that you got scored and it will give you some statistics about how you are doing. You can use the “Update” link for each race you scored to make any changes if needed.

Just as in the past, if you score more than ten races the software will figure out your best ten and give you a total score based on just those ten. The site will highlight the races it ignored so you know what didn’t get scored.

To check overall circuit standings:

From your “Circuit Races” page click on the “Circuit Standings” link.  This page is for everyone to see, but you must have an account to see the races other athletes have done (the breakdown by clicking on their name).

To see your age group only click on the “Age Group” pull-down to show only your age group.
